Cliff moved to Europe from Seattle when he was 12, and has traveled internationally ever since that time. Cliff has worked in dozens of countries for clients both inside and outside the United States. A former officer of the International Bar Association, Cliff has been active in speaking and other engagements for not-for-profit organizations overseas and in the US for many years.
David has close ties with the Chinese and Korean communities in Illinois and has also traveled internationally.

In one matter, a company had several containers of a perishable good on dock in Argentina, some without necessary refrigeration. Only two days were available to obtain release of the goods without a bill of lading. The efforts on behalf of the client were successful.
In another, a global business hinged on careful negotiation with a licensor with whom various disagreements existed. Working hand-in-hand, the business not only survived but was extended in various ways during the lifetime of the patents involved without litigation.
Potter Group Legal Services attorneys have provided worldwide privacy advice regarding internet connected products, and advised companies with respect to their software licensing in the automotive, electronics, and other industries.
Cliff Potter has also helped companies successfully manage US litigation, minimizing expense and getting out of the cases quickly with minimal expense. In one such case, we successfully obtained summary judgment upheld on appeal regarding a product line for one multinational.
In perhaps our most unusual case, Cliff worked with a large multinational in Tahiti in order to cope with the labor provisions of the Napoleonic Code which differed from that in France at the time. In another situation, we helped manage labor issues in Spain and Portugal for a client.
